In short: Scheduling Work Items directly in Timebook's Calendar module allows you to allocate specific time slots for tasks, enhancing visibility and time management. This method integrates task planning with your calendar, ensuring that all work is accounted for and organized efficiently.
A Work Item in Timebook represents a unit of work or effort that supports your team’s collaboration and planning processes. Work Items can be very versatile as they capture everything from the smallest tasks to the biggest epics. Whether you’re tracking bugs, tackling new features, or writing up user stories, all Work Items serve one purpose—getting things done.
While you can create Work Items in several areas across Timebook, scheduling them directly on the calendar grid adds an extra layer of functionality. This method allows you to both define the Work Item and allocate specific time for it, ensuring that task-related work is visibly accounted for in the Calendar module.
We have a dedicated article that explains the concept of a Work Item and all its related features.

You can manage your Work Items in the Calendar module by creating and scheduling them directly on the grid in one step. This approach simplifies scheduling by allowing you to see and select the exact time slot for your Work Item as you create it.
To create and schedule a Work Item on the calendar grid:
Click a time slot on the calendar grid, or drag to select a longer period.
In the menu that appears, select [Work Item].
Give your new Work Item a meaningful name. At this stage, you can also:
Change the type of this Work Item (to “Task” or “Bug,” for instance).
Add a short description.
Define basic properties, such as Assignee and Priority.
Click [Create...] to save your changes.
You can also manage your unscheduled Work Items in the Calendar module using the expandable To-do drawer that allows you to schedule work with simple drag-and-drop features.
For more information, see To-do drawer
After creating a Work Item on the grid, you can easily reschedule it by dragging its card to a new time or adjust its duration by dragging the lower edge of the card. Clicking the card allows you to view and update the Work Item’s details as needed. For more information, see
