In short: The Template Center allows you to quickly create and manage templates for Documents. It provides built-in templates for common use cases and allows Workplace members to create and share their own. You can create new Documents using the templates in the Template Center or apply them directly on an empty page for faster setup and consistency.
The Template Center is designed to help you manage documentation. You can use Timebook templates to create a new quickly. The main of your new Document will look just like the template, but you can modify it later. This feature allows you to quickly generate Documents, ensuring consistency and saving time when working on similar content across different projects.
Additionally, you can create templates for future use through the Template Center’s editor. This editor behaves like a regular Timebook page, allowing you to add and organize content using all available Timebook . Once you save the template, it will become available for other members of your to use in their work.
The Template Center is divided into two main areas:
The left pane displays a list of templates in two sections: the [Timebook] section, which contains built-in templates for common scenarios like meeting minutes or a project status tracker, and the [Workplace] section, where you can find all templates created by your Workplace members.
The area on the right previews the template you selected from the list and includes a description field that provides information on when and how to use a specific template.
You can also apply templates directly on pages. See below for more information.
In the Template Center, you can create templates that are available to all Workplace members and tailored to specific needs. Using a simple editor that functions like any other Timebook page, you can design and save your template. Once saved, the template is accessible for all members to quickly find and reuse.
To add a new template in the Template Center:
Open the Template Center in the bottom-left corner of the Navigator.
Click the [+] button next to the search bar in the top-left corner.
You can edit your template’s contents on the main screen. This area works like a regular Timebook page, allowing you to add text or press the “/” key to access all available blocks, including widgets, links, media, and embeds.
Once your page is ready, use the drawer on the right to give your template a meaningful name and description. Then press [Save] to confirm.
New templates will appear in the [Workplace] section in the left pane of the Template Center.
Using templates in Timebook simplifies the Document creation process by allowing you to start with a pre-designed structure that suits your needs. This ensures consistency across your Workplace and saves time when generating similar types of documentation.
To create a Document from a template:
Open the Template Center in the bottom-left corner of the Navigator.
Select the template you want to reuse from the list on the left.
Click [Use template] in the top-right corner of the main area.
Select the for which you want to create the new Document. The template you select will be the main page of your new Document.
Click [Create] to confirm.
When choosing the Team for your new Document, you can select [Personal] if you want to create a Document intended for individual use.
When you open an empty page in Timebook, you’ll see suggested templates at the bottom of the screen. You can choose one to instantly populate your page, giving you a head start with a consistent structure and reducing setup time.
You can explore different templates by clicking on each one to preview how it looks on your page. If you haven’t started editing a template, you can switch between them to see which best fits your needs.
As you begin typing or adding content, the template selector will conveniently disappear, allowing you to focus fully on building your page. If you wish to apply a different template later, you can access the options again through the Template Center.
To apply a template to an empty page:
Open an empty page; the template options will appear at the bottom.
Click on a template to preview it on your page and select the one that suits your needs.
Once you’re happy with your choice, start editing the page to personalize the content.
