In short: The [Notifications] module keeps you updated on various Workplace events and changes, such as meeting reminders, mentions, and work assignments. Notifications are organized into several tabs, allowing easy management. You can interact directly with notifications to mark them as read, dismiss them, or revisit them later.
We designed the [Notifications] module to keep you updated on events across your Timebook . Meeting reminders, invitations, updates on shared items, work assignments, and mentions in comments—you can find all that and more in this module.
Each new unread notification adds to the counter beside the [Notifications] module, giving you a clear view of how many changes might need your attention.
Notifications in Timebook are organized into several tabs, each dedicated to a specific type of notification, for easier access and management:
All
This tab provides a cumulative view of notifications from all tabs. It is useful as a big-picture view of all notifications.
Time-sensitive
This tab focuses on meeting-related notifications, such as reminders for upcoming meetings. These notifications are automatically dismissed once the related event begins.
Mentions
Requiring action
This tab primarily contains invitations you receive, making it a convenient shortcut for accepting or declining them.
Other
This tab includes notifications that are mostly informational and do not require any action from you.
Snoozed
You can snooze certain notifications for a set period to minimize distractions. All snoozed notifications can be found in this tab.
Watched
Dismissed
This tab is where all your dismissed notifications are stored. While these notifications no longer require immediate action, they remain accessible for you to interact with or revisit their related items. It's a useful reference point whenever you need to catch up on past activities.
Managing notifications in Timebook is straightforward and designed to keep you focused. Interacting with a notification by clicking it will take you directly to the object related to that notification. This way, you can quickly respond or make updates without needing to search through other parts of the app.
Unread notifications are marked with an orange-dot indicator, making them easy to identify. Interacting with a notification will automatically mark it as read. You can also:
Click the orange-dot indicator to mark a notification as read without interacting with it.
Open the [...] menu on a notification card and select [Mark as unread] if you need to revisit the notification later.
To dismiss a single notification, click the [X] button on its card.
Certain actions apply to all notifications within a selected tab, and you can find them in the tab’s top-right corner. You can mark everything as read with the [Mark all as read] button or move notifications to the [Dismissed] tab using [Dismiss all].
When you interact with invitation notifications, the event card will open on the side, providing all necessary details. You can respond using the [Accept], [Maybe], or [Decline] buttons directly from the notification card, allowing you to handle invitations with minimal effort.
Some Timebook notifications also show in the form of a "fly-out" or a "toast message".
You will see them in the top-right corner of your screen for a short period. These notifications give you direct interaction options if you click on them.
When other Workplace members mention you in comments or directly on , you will receive an automatic notification in the [Mentions] tab, allowing you to quickly navigate to the related comment.
This tab displays notifications about Timebook objects you decided to follow, such as or . You will be informed of significant changes to these objects.
